Iman Azimi

Dr Azimi is a cell biologist and a biochemist with extensive experience in drug discovery and development. He is running the Cancer Biology Laboratory at the College of Health and Medicine (Division of Pharmacy) at the University of Tasmania. Prior to joining the University of Tasmania in 2018, Dr Azimi worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Pharmacy, The University of Queensland, where he was researching in the field of epithelial-mesenchymal plasticity, hypoxia, calcium and redox signalling in cancer. During this time, he was also involved in commercial-based projects in collaboration with industry partners. Dr Azimi obtained his PhD in 2011 from the Lowy Cancer Research Centre at the University of New South Wales.
