Kathryn Friend
Kathryn studied a BSc. at Sydney University, majoring in Microbiology and Biochemistry. As an undergraduate she began her first industry position in a Sydney-based diagnostics company, Cellabs, in Sales and Marketing support. Moving to the UK, Kathryn began her sales career with Caltag Medsystems covering the London and South East territories. Returning to Australia, Kathryn joined BD Biosciences working as the NSW Territory Manager. After a career break for maternity leave, Kathryn was recruited to Australian Biosearch to develop and grow the Australian market for an emerging US-based company, BioLegend. BioLegend presence grew from a relatively minor supplier in Australia to become one of three main companies in the Immunological Research market. With a new position as BioLegend’s National Sales Manager for Australia, and a recent MBA from Australian Institute of Business, Kathryn’s focus is to continue to develop the Australian market for BioLegend’s current and upcoming product portfolio.
